Here are links to interesting health-related websites, including some that discuss controversies in the fields of medicine and nutrition. In turn, some of them have links to other sites. Obviously it is impossible to list all the websites on the internet that contain useful health-related information. Working on the assumption that most people have ready access to conventional medical information through their personal physicians, I have tended to favor sites that offer little-known information or an unconventional perspective.
There is much that is still unknown about medicine, nutrition and human health. That is why certain topics are controversial and why you may find contradictory information on these sites. Please understand that the material on our website is not intended to be prescriptive in nature, but rather it is intended to be a source of information and of suggestions for further enquiry. The reader should exercise sound judgment and consult with his personal physician before implementing any information or recommendations contained or referenced herein. Just because information is posted on the internet does not mean that it is necessarily truthful or accurate.
I welcome your comments and suggestions for additions or deletions. You can find my phone number and email address at the top of this page.

This is the official medical society for physicians who practice "alternative" or "complementary" medicine, that is, physicians who emphasize proper nutrition and preventive medicine. This organization makes available, both to the medical profession and to the general public, information on alternative approaches to preventing and curing illness. One such approach is chelation therapy, the non-surgical approach to treating heart disease.
Association of American Physicians and Surgeons. The AAPS is an organization of physicians who believe in the old-fashioned way of delivering medical care, without the intrusion of government and managed care. Grassland Beef. The omega-3 fatty acids, which have health benefits for numerous maladies, including depression, ADD/ADHD, heart disease, psoriasis, and many others, are not only found in fish, but also in genuine grass-fed beef. Indeed, there is evidence that grass-fed beef is even richer in these essential fats than is fish. In addition, grass-fed beef is also rich in conjugated linoleic acid (CLA). It is important to note, however, that most so-called organic beef is fed grain, just like ordinary beef, and therefore does not contain the same amount of these important nutrients as grass-fed beef does.

This organization is a clearinghouse for information on the potential dangers of prescription psychiatric medications, especially the SSRI class of antidepressants. See also Prozac Survivors Support Group. However, please remember that antidepressant medications are not prescribed to healthy people. They are prescribed to people who are already depressed and often already predisposed to suicide or violence. So if someone on antidepressant medication does something terrible, did the medicine really cause it, or did it just fail to prevent what would have happened anyway? The answer can only be found through rigorous statistical analysis and may require randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled studies. Such studies are difficult to perform because of ethical considerations.
